Part of our “Tresham Reimagined” series, Art Director Katie Begalke puts her creative mind to work, using our Tresham collection to create a stylish retreat for her and Hildie, her Bernese mountain dog.
I am thrifty…okay, borderline cheap. I love vintage household items, pops of color and lots of texture. There is something about those eccentric flea market finds that just speaks to me.
When designing my space, I immediately knew I wanted to incorporate vintage elements, like my mom’s Nancy Drew collection and the preppy dog picture frames that I made. They bring color and texture to the room (as well as a little humor).
My overall inspiration was my dog Hildie. I chose colors that would compliment her markings and began searching out items that were traditional and preppy to fit with my vision of Kohler’s Tresham collection.
The final result is a room full of sentimental items and things that make me happy–overall it’s a space that I am comfortable and relaxed in. I do, however, wish I was a bit more daring with my use of color, but Hildie seems to like it.

Love it/// Great design and style for a bathroom. Clever and out of the box but unique and interesting just the same.
I wish my bath was that big!
A beautiful room full of style and functionality…who would of thought. Great look !
very nice
I’m inspired. Who says a bathroom has to look like one?
can you show us pictures of the bath tub and shower?
I really love a garden tub….I had one when I had my house my in Texas. It was just great. It was awesome I had a big picture window that was frosted too. I was able to lite candles and have a glass of wine (this is when I drank) and I turned on music a bit on the low side. I could really relax. It was so nice so get in there no kids no husband for one full hour. That was my quiet time every night, I loved it. Now my boys are grown but I do miss that tub. Now my bathroom is too small for that kind of tub which stinks. I really can’t afford to move at this time. If I could move I would move out of this state and move closer to my sons. Family is very important. So the next time I move I am going to make sure the bathroom is big enough for a garden tub with a seperate shower. I know it is more work to keep clean but well worth it.
this would have to b a show bathroom. I would be afraid to do anything in there
Wow I really love this, it’s perfect
This is a bathroom??? It is so huge & fantastic!!!
Love the light fixture, dog and it is overall a very nice room.
I love this bathroom. It’s roomy, more of a dressing room than a bathroom. Put together very well.
I love this style. If only I had a bigger bathroom. My bathroom will feel like a closet after seeing this awesome bath.
I love this bathroom, so cozy and homey as well as functional. Great job!!!
